Book lovers, this is the route you've been waiting for.
Grácia is known as the alternative neighborhood, where all the trends begin, the most cultural activities take place. hipsters and bookstores are a must
The asociación Alternative Barcelona, which organizes leisure and cultural routes around Barcelona, prepares for Saturday 11 February the route «Barcelona Book Lovers»: a walk through several of the most charming and welcoming bookstores in the neighborhood. The organizers have not revealed their names to us, because it is the surprise and highlight of the journey. However, they have left us the facades of some of them, in case you want to play a guessing game.
The "cultural" route has a happy ending, since attendees are invited to a round of beers in Plaza del Sol, one of the mythical places located in the heart of the neighborhood. It is an ideal time to meet people and share the hobby that everyone will have in common: books.
The guide to this tour Her name is María, and she is passionate about books. So much so that she works as a volunteer at Tuuu Librería de Gràcia (in case you don't know it, it is a space with second-hand books that you acquire for the value that you yourself want to give it) and she has taken the initiative to create this tour since in 2015 UNESCO named Barcelona as "Literary City" and the neighborhood of Grácia is known as “the library of the city of Barcelona”.
El tour de María aims to introduce us to the literary and bookstore culture in Barcelona, taking us to between seven to nine bookstores, explaining their history and eventually supporting these bookstores with the purchase of a copy.
There will two schedules: the one morning in English (10-12h) and evening (from 17-19 p.m.) in Spanish. Run, you'll run out of space! All you have to do is send your email address to Barcelona Alternative Facebook and they will send you the “payment request”.
